Rauschpfeife

Rauschpfeife /a German version of a shawm/ is a loud instrument with a conical canal and double reed, which is closed as in a cornamuse. In the 16ht century it was used to play in the open air with the company of trombones, trumpets and percussion instruments.

It was produced in 4 sizes: sopranino, soprano, alto, tenor.

The GT Rauschpfeife sopran is made of sycamore wood.
